I remember going up to the Solitude wizard and seeing how she was short, had glowing eyes, and was wearing a hood and thought to myself “oh, yeah, she’s a wood elf”. But then it gave me a dialogue option to ask about her age which I thought was weird but then she responds with “I just aged very well” and it instantly revealed to me that she was a vampire. 😑

Halfmoon mill has a lot of conspiracy theories about hert and her brother being vampire/werewolf hybrids hence the name “half-moon” and if you notice her brother almost never leaves the house during the day alluding to him being mostly vampire while hert is mostly werewolf allowing her to walk around in the sun. This could also explain why their is nothing left of their victims in the shed but bones, because her brother drinks the blood and she eats the corpse. There are a lot of neat theories about it.

Edit: i should mention that most of the mixed breed conspiracies revolve around them being siblings instead of lovers

Every play through I chop Hert some wood, sell it to her, then murder her.

I then go in her house and rob it. When I come outside, the courier gives me my inheritance from Hert.

Then I go to Falkreath and help the old Jarl steal a letter, then deliver some ashes. I helped 3 people and become Thane of Falkreath.

Thanks for everything Hert. I’ll stop by again when the time comes to assassinate your husband.

Dawn gard update fd the visuals but without vampire lord playing a regular vampire was the lamest crap ever.

There’s two main problems with this.

1. Dawnguard changed how vampires look so they’re a lot more obvious. I wouldn’t actually mind the change if it was something that was only perceivable to other vampires. like imagine if you walk through a village and saw the same guy every day, but one night you get infected with vampirism and you go to that village only to see that guy as a vampire and realize he was a vampire the entire time but you didn’t know because he would just mortal until recently.

2. Skyrim changed how vampires work so instead of a constant damage affect in the sun, they just don’t regenerate. so for the most part there’s no real negative consequences to going outside during the daylight as a vampire. which I get was done to make the place dialogue bit more accessible, but it completely invalidates the entirety of Dawnguard, because the vampire Lords have no real reason to need the sun gone. Sure they’re not as strong but it’s not going to kill them.

I actually was her when my character got turned into a vampire, and I legit thought my file “soft corrupted” or something as my screen is always flashing red in the daylight, but I just rolled with it until I think the vampire hunters were randomly coming after me or something and I had a surprised Pikachu moment 😂

Those two aren’t Vampires. They’re Werewolves. Cause I had a quest from the Dark Brotherhood, and I have the original The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Whenever I got to attack him, first he turns into a howling Werewolf, and she’s already turning into a Werewolf as well. Not only that, but look at the name of the mill they live and work at…It’s the biggest clue as to them being Werewolves.

lore wise… they both know and were turned by someone they sheltered for the night. they were originally human and living in an area where vampires get killed for being vampires, so they had to keep up appearances. they also had a surplus of chickens and fish to feed upon to keep the sunlight damage at bay.

Well being vampire doesnt give you directly special out of ordinary power, thats lycanthrope.

Even vampires have phobias.

The sunlight doesn’t kill vampires if they are well fed. From a player perspective this is shown by the fact that while inthe sunlight it doesn’t damage you, simply stops regeneration for HP/MP/SP. Meaning that vampires in elder scrolls lore are only weakend by the sun its not lethal unless they are “starved” gone a few weeks without feeding. She isn’t starved so its at best midly uncomfortable 😒 you don’t even have to pay close attention to the lore to learn that btw. Also I get this is a joke but she is not a “super powered vampire” lol she is a lesser vampire that bear would rip her shiz up 🤣

I’m honestly not a huge fan of the Dawnguard vampire look. I like the orange eyes, but not what it does to character(s) faces. It’s fitting for some characters, but it’s ugly, especially when I make a PC into a vampire.

I will say it’s a lot more easy being a vampire in Skyrim, Oblivion vampirism was just a sh|tty nightmare best suited for ‘I have nothing better to do’ end game role playing. Much better having a home in every city, all the wealth you could ever need.

I made her my wife through a mod and then had to kill her for the dawn guard as a side quest, kind of sad story, but i got a new wife.

I really dislike the way Vampires look in Skyrim, a stupid goblin face with that red line from nose to chin. Sure, make them look gaunt, but why look like they accidentally bit down on a sword vertically?

She’s afflicted by Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, not Sanguinare Vampiris. Vampires of that strand are neither weakened by the sun, nor does it hurt them. Instead they are strengthened by the night. Fun fact, it’s also the only type of vampire that doesn’t get stronger the more they starve, instead they get stronger the more they feed. The more you know.

I’ve seen a single bear straight up murder both her and her husband and still looking for bruise with the DB. So I don’t know if these two are particularly weak, or that was that famous bear high on cocaine.

Vampires are OP asf in Skyrim, just make sure to follow MajorSlack’s tutorial. Werewolves are rubbish.

I could be wrong, but it seems like the sun is more of an irritant to Skyrim vampires than a deterrent. Like they don’t like it, it makes them weaker, but it ain’t gonna kill them or hurt them.

You have to feed daily pretty much, and people attack you if you go without feeding, yet you get stronger if you dont feed? Its just a bit backwards IMO, and way too time consuming.

I always felt like the whole vampire dlc was seeing how silly Harmon and the other camps were for hiding and not going out. The sun doesn’t hurt at all. You need to feed once every 4 days and that’s it, so if you have a willing partner it doesn’t matter.

More like she’s hoping the bear will weaken you enough for an easy meal. Hert and Hern are well aware of their vampirism.

I love how the vampires in Dawnguard are visually obviously infected, and nobody seems to notice. Like she’s pasty white, and her bone structure is more bat like than regular bats. The werewolves get it pretty easy.

In my VR playthrough i have many mods on under one of them is a remake of every person (sadly nsfw) and it removes the vampire looks outside vampires (even solitude ones) but not normal vampires and the Hakon family 🙂

Normal vamps with net 0 defining characteristics can’t go anywhere without three mercs and the entire guard putting them to the sword, but dawnguard vampires with them purdy eyes get 0 heat.

Question if she gets attacked, will she fight back vampire style? Haven’t encountered her yet.

She obv knows, but she probably just sucks it up like your character does if you’re a vampire. And vampires can still be killed, especially if they’re the common weaker kind. She probably hasn’t fought a bear in her life and simply eats unsuspecting travellers.

The lowest stage of vampire should have zero sun damage. And it should take a couple days without feeding to progress stages. And you should only go down one stage when feeding.

Honestly, you might be on to something. When dawnguard first came out there were a couple moments like talking to the court wizard in Solitude being like “Holy shit, you’re a vampire???” And she responds to you completing her side job like “Vampires living in caves… uncivilized creatures aren’t they??” 😂😅

vampires are pretty weak in this game, I mean one got eaten by a horker. I reckon mudcrabs pose a greater threat than the average vampire.

What’s interesting about those two, is that they’re one of the only vampires who are perfectly comfortable being in broad daylight with little to no discomfort or malady.

To put into perspective, Serana is a Daughter of Coldharbor, about as close to first generation for vampires as it gets, and probably the strongest variant of vampirism.

And she *complains* about the sun.

You yourself can be turned by either her or Harkon into a similar tier of vampirism, and you don’t come out of it unscathed in sunlight either.

So, what gives? Are they just really good actors? Creepy humans wearing contact lens???

IDK if it is true but someone explained the reason that only the Dragonborn (and possible other vampires) can see the vampire eyes to the rest of the mortals they look regular if I recall right.

I’ve had Hert as friend before and she’s come to my defense using vampire powers, so yeah, she knows she’s a vampire.

That said, some vampires are incredibly weak, and might not win by themselves against a bear.

Hert is a vampire she is also a level-ten lumberjack she is not that powerful of a vampire and she can be in the daylight it will not hurt her and she will not hurt you as a player she followed me off and a flame atronach killed her fire is her weakness I saw her on fire and by the time I got to her it was too late but I killed the flame atronach that killed her she reads books 📚 on werewolves I know I was her friend and she let me stay in her house take whatever I wanted and sleep in her bed it was when she started to fight for me she got killed she only levels to 10 I was in level 18 she will not level up with you she is a lumberjack and one of the friendliest vampires you’ll ever meet that will not attack you with besides serana I love hert

There’s a fan theory that the Dragonborn’s aedric soul allows them to see through a vampire’s magic and recognize what they really are.

I’m pretty sure her husband is at some point a target for Dark Brotherhood and doesn’t show up until that quest is active but you are told you don’t have to kill her. It’s possible you weren’t far off with her not knowing what she’s cable of but she obviously knows she’s a vampire but I think, just as a theory, is that her husband my be a run away Volakhir vampire and the dark brotherhood was “hired” so whomever was responsible for her husband didn’t feel like bothering hunting for him but more than likely he’s been killing travelers and that’s another reason if not the sole reason he’s a target.
