Honestly, I was a long time supporter of the Stormcloaks because the Empire really just showed it’s worst hand right away.
Like, they tried to execute me, when I probably didn’t do anything wrong (yet)
Then my welcome to Whiterun is Idolaf Battle-Born flipping a coin to decide whether or not he’ll like me
Then I see him and his dad, Disney’s Pete the Cat, harassing a little old lady.
I tore Idolaf apart on my first werewolf rampage and didn’t feel bad (until Jon Battle-Born stopped talking to me because of it)

Question is, is he still essential after you do the thieves guild special job tied to him
not trying to stir up a wasp nest, but it seems like most Imperial aligned characters are either corrupt or asasholes. Yes, even Balgruuf. he’s the last owner of Mephala’s Ebony blade, and we all know what that means.

This feud is so funny to me because of just how hard Bethesda tries to make you hate the Battle Borns. The Gray Manes are verbally hostile, consort with the werewolf Companions, and help burn down their own city to put a crown their grandpa’s head. The counter point? Battleborns are haughty scumbags people don’t like talking to lol.
