one of my favorite things in all of skyrim is when im in the wilderness fighting a horde of bandits or stormcloaks or whatever and out of nowhere a giant shows up and just absolutely decimates them. after the carnage ends and we have defeated all the enemies he just goes on his way peacefully, never once becoming hostile towards me. the giants of skyrim are true homies for sure

I only kill giants if they’ve randomly agro’d me (it’s happened a couple times after they were attacked by another hostile NPC). Giants are bros. I also stop to stand by this giant whenever I see him with a new charcater, no matter what timeline of mine I’m in he’ll never be mourning alone (the only time I’m allowed to break characater, because tradition)

I have two videos of killing friendly giants in this place

Whenever I am in that area, I will find the giant and will leave a flower next to the mamath. Then I will stand next to the giant. I make my character pay their respects to the giant’s friend/pet.

As one walked up to me and lifted his club, I genuinely thought to myself, “what are you up to with that club there?” I went flying when hit ground it next to me lol one of my favorite interactions when I first played the game

Giants only attack if you invade their Camps. If you come across a giant walking around the wilderness they never attack you unless they’re provoked, but that includes when they’re provoked by any npc, like if a saber cat attack a giant he becomes hostile to you too.

Skyrim should have made a quest line where you take on the giants side and become friendly with them that way we could dig deeper into the lore of The giants like for instance if they were the original natives to skyrim before humans and elves and dwarves set foot there and They were the 4th party to have been delt the most harm.

This giant attacked Meeko even though me, Meeko, and Kharjo we’re going to chill next to him. Meeko sparked rage in him and my companions started fighting with him so in the end the giant got reunited with his mammoth.

My 1st play threw up the game I had one of those signs come up but said oh giants are intelligent creatures. So 1st time I saw one I walked right up to it thinking I was gonna be able to talk talk to it, Imagine my surprise when I become an astronomy.

One time I was playing and a dragon attacked the mammoth so the giant ran over there, somehow threw the mammoth like a hundred feet away and somehow the mammoth took no fall damage, then it killed the dragon

This same Giant will actually help you during some fights too. There is a Dragon nest/word wall not too far from this area. Sometimes, it will attack when you wander into the area. If you draw it over to this spot, you’ll get to witness a Giant vs a Dragon and it is glorious. 😁

Honestly, there should have been a quest or item you could use that would make you not be attacked when you get close to their camp. Maybe if you dropped a Magic item. Or high level item or something you could wander about their camp. Where if you grabbed their cheese, they would not care, but touched the chest and they would attack.

Well of course he won’t attack you, Giants are territorial and will attack people in self defence or if they trespass, and even if they trespass the giant will warn them,

If you find giants and mammoths out in the wild, do not fret, they are completely docile so long as you do not engage in hostility,

As a matter of fact you can even fight alongside them,

One time I was on the road that’s North of the mountains that separate Falkreath and Whiterun and I walked upon some Giants, they didn’t attack me but were actually in a battle against from what I remember were possibly Bandits, Rogue Mages, Undead or Hostile Fauna,

I helped ’em out, and they went on with their business.

Not all Giants in Skyrim attack you if you go up to them, only certain ones do, the ones found at camps usually attack you on proximity but the ones roaming around the wilds do not attack, heck, they’ll even help you out during combat

I was playing on survival and my character was numb so my health was dangerously low and my stamina was depleted from sprinting. I tried to fight off the wolves but then a goddamn giant joined in. The music for giant fights didn’t start until I accidentally hit him so was he helping me??

I ran away before he could hit me and then a random thief popped up out of nowhere but before he could try to rob me, he got distracted by the giant and fought it.

The devs probably were inspired by elephants with that one. Elephants will mourn their dead in a similar fashion, hold a wake for them and stand around the body for an entire day while touching the body with their trunk.
When they encounter old elephant bones, they’ll even do the same and hold the bones with their trunk and mourn.

Whenever I come across a friendly giant walking I always walk with them for a while. No matter what quest I was doing. It’s just nice.

Honestly there is so much content that we are missing due to Skyrim being rushed out the door. At this point I’m willing to call it even if Bethesda just releases all the content they planed on using but didn’t make it to launch such as dynamic civil war where you can actually lose it if you ignore the quest line.

I’ve always liked the giants in this game. They feel like actual intelligent creatures just attempting to survive the wilderness. I always feel bad killing them for alchemy, and this makes it worse.

I can imagine the scene where the giant is just sitting by the corpse, face blank with the denial brought by losing his mammoth, then the dragonborn stands by his side, laying down his weapons and sitting with the giant.

I cast frenzy on a mammoth recently, and the giant just let the mammoth beat him to death, standing there looking sad. I’ve never felt like more of a monster.

Yesterday I was travellingg alone from.White Run to Morthal through Labyrintya and only one of the Trolls respawned I m on a new playthrough under level 20 so I had a hard Time , the troll followed me & suddenly a Giant appeared and smashed the MF troll. He looked at me then like you dont have to thank me. Giants are very noble creatures, dont Kill Them!!

So emotional, they pollute the natural hot springs

Once I was attacked by a giant and I didn’t do anything –

I accidentally launched all three greybeards off of the Throat of the World and teleported to where they landed.

They began fighting the bandits spawned there

Several of their shouts hit mammoths
Giants and mammoths began attacking bandit, greybeard, and elves alike.

Then 3 dragons spawned

It’s hilarious to watch a dragon sent flying by a dragon

I unfortunately was in free camera mode and didn’t see my body get hit

I found one giant walking the other day I can’t remember where but I came right up to him and he didn’t attack me he just kept walking straight and I found a clam farm close to the shore to go to the vampires Castle by the whatever you call it boat to cross oh not across on the island but before you go to the island on the boat

Giants are also fairly intelligent species on the level of murder if not Elvin levels of intelligence until the Dwemer destroyed them through their sick practices like they did the snow elves
