Tiny little trees are the go-to for visuals and look I also use vanilla grass amount with a grass mod set at 1k or less the same concept goes for Body mods and textures as well think of there being more than one of you walking around so you have to account for that also physical effects are CPU bound at least CBPC is idk about SMP my pc setup is a Ryzen 5 7600 and Arc A750 8gb and yes outskirt mods hit frame rate hard at least for me
Optimize your mods by not using them!
I mod on my Rog Ally, 300+ mods above 60fps. 800p. Lux Via is the hardest mod for me to run, tanks 46-50fps outside whiterun at the intersection for example. I wish there was a 1k/512 option. Gaming on 7inch screen allows some cut corners.
i only have 200+ mods and my skyrim run smoothly with 60fps open space. The only issue, i can’t download ENB and only allow for reshade to maintain the fps. Is there any good reshade mod with bloom without overwhite the entire screen?
I really like that group UI. I always have Sofia, Tocatta, Serana and Zora with me so being able to see their health would be useful.
The biggest fps butcher i find is simply walking around the falkreath hold forests. Them trees be demandin’
My biggest issue has always been mods that run too many scripts.
Very helpful tips!
what are your grass and tree mods though? and what are you using to remove and have less trees?
A good thing to warn is for players to check what exactly is bottlenecking them and causing low FPS/Stutters. Use applications like Afterburner + RTSS to check if your GPU is being at 99%+ usage, If so, that means you are being bottlenecked by the sheer amount of effects/graphics you are putting your GPU to handle. Try to reduce resolution or the quality of some mods. If you are stuttering at a decent framerate, it could possible be because your GPU VRAM is being the bottleneck. A good way to check it is to pay attention to the allocated/dedicated VRAM values and the power consumption of the GPU. If during those stutters the power consumption goes way down and the VRAM changes while still being at the card limit (11900 MB for example, on a 12GB card), it means the card doesnt have enough VRAM to run the game properly. Checking CPU is harder, because Skyrim doesnt use that many cores, so, you have to check the CPU cores in isolation, to see their behaviour and not just the overall CPU usage. If you are playing on the Anniversary Edition, it is possible but quite improbable that you will be limited by engine, unless you install some really weird and underground mod.
Worth to mention that mods that is heavy on script also slow down your game and can lead to stutter. The worst are mods that has cloaking mechanism. Many LL mods have this. So i really suggest only enable LL mods when you need it, do your business, then disable until you need to do it again.
The follower optimization was my biggest issue back at Fallout 4. Mainly because I wanted to have enough followers to where I can watch them do all the fighting with all my custom weapons and outfit I made for them, especially from mods
Buy a 4090 and throw everything at it! 😀
Basically, if your PC can’t handle it delete/remove. Simple, kind of harsh, but she’s being honest lol.
what are those buff skills the follower is using? Kittytal’s mod or Direni Spell mods
The trees just look so good though.
Thanks 🙂, your content is great and helps me alot
