Here’s my theory, Bethesda intended for Serana to be the canon romance but screwed up with the marraige system and didn’t patch it and instead gave her an excuse to not like churches, but this is for the actual act of marriage, I’m fairly certain Serana and the dragonborn would 100% be boning every chance they got, Serana clearly has feelings for the Dragonborn but refuses to make it offical due to the constant reminders of the turning process, So while you aren’t offically married to her you’re still together

He’s definitely correct about everything the only problem is. That’s don’t think that’s how love works. However and the real reason why she won’t go out with him it’s simple. He’s just the biggest simp she’s ever met in her entire life. But in all seriousness it’s more like one you killed a father so I’m not sure how she would feel about that. Too and it depends on which side you choose you are basically you’re fighting with a faction that sees her as nothing more than an object a resource and asset as they say. And you may be saying well there’s still a lot more than we did like comfort her during the process and also made sure we checked in with her every single step of the way. But humor me for the idea that she is like an actual human being for a second. Yes I know I’m asking a lot here for people to think of a Bethesda NPC as a human being. One of two of those things that you could have been doing to her could have been enough to sour the mood especially how you have to end off the adventure with killing her father. Which is not a good way to end off a character Arc journey together. And like I said about the whole faction that you choose how does she know that you don’t just see her as a little bit of a monster to in the back of your head. The reality is she’s been through a lot and it’s more like she’s depressed. So it’s not even really a problem with the character it’s more of just a problem with her and she needs to gather her emotions and get better. But hey at the end of the day you couldn’t make the argument that if you get to her quest first and then take her on your journey of being the dragonborn and then facing off against the other dragonborn. After all that time spent together her emotions and depression could have gotten better over time. Thus she would be a lot more in the mindset of being able to actually be happy again and possibly fall in love with you as well in the process. No guarantee but it would make a lot of sense. But hey I’m just sharing my got here and if you really want to just go with my joke answer at the top of the comment that I made. You’re the world’s biggest simp.

Bethesda did originally intend her to be the canon romance option for the Dragonborn, but they didn’t want to eliminate the freedom of choice for the player with marrying other characters or something like that.
