Diverse NPC Movesets is a better choice for NPC animations IMO. Makes them far more varied and less predictable.

Maxsu block overhaul version 0.24a works on 1.6.1170 I have 0 issues and dynamic block hit is working in my game. Valhalla is also not recommended for use with for honor in skyrim if you use the all in one if you use the separate animations it’s fine but using the all in one requires sekiro combat and modern stagger lock which can also be paired with poise stagger overhaul (NG if you’re on 1170) with the appropriate patches.

Hey could you do a more specific mod list that focuses on creating the most realistic and grounded combat for Skyrim with none of the super flashy over the top animations. Basically as close to a medieval combat experience in Skyrim as possible.

these moveset mods are very impressive, and we’re living in an amazing era for modding

but, it might be an impopular opinion, I still like my skyrim to feel like Skyrim. Some of them are too flashy for me

NPCs Use Potions has most of the features of Smart NPC Potions with just different implementation and Jay endorses and uses it so you might want to consider that one. You can also use both together to increase variety and frequency of potions to increase difficulty.

Do you guys experience any crash when using Sanguine Symphony? Its a great mod but for me its been crashing pretty frequently when in Combat 🙁

To be honest that’s what I fear the most for TES VI … the combat ^^

there are a lot of skyrim mod youtubers already done this kind of combat mod videos every year, and using almost the same mod list too. No one doing much mod about new contents(quest,landmass) or balancing the game(economy,loot drop…)though.

what armor mod is that

I do all my combat in 1st person. But alas the combat animation mod doesn’t work on Xbox 🤷 regardless of load order

A bit suprised not to see some newer or simpler stuff.

BFCO is better than MCO doesn’t need the patches to fix it and supports one click power attack, jumping attack and direction attacks.

Dodge MCO is way easier to set up on the latest versions of Skyrim than TK dodge that involves installing multiple mods and manually deleting bits or Pandora patches.

Newer combat ovehauls like Chocolate Poise Plus and Plus Combat.

I would also add a timed block, Hellblade Timed Block or Simple Timed Block and some movesets to go with BFCO/MCO like BFCO – MCO – Diverse NPC Movesets
which add loads in one simple install.

What? Maxsu block overhaul doesn’t even come with a .dll file, it’s a behaviour based mod… It’s compatible with AE. Also why disable the recoil feature completely? Use Recoil Redefined: it will play the recoil anims only when a certain stamina threshold (user configurable) is reached.

I do think this combo of mods is the perfect setup for Skyrim combat.

This is also why I have been waiting eagerly for your “Ultimate Eldergleam”!
You seem to have a good overview of which mods to select that work well together.
I have been using your “Eldergleam NG’ list as a base for modding for a while now, and even after adding well over 1000 additional mods to it, it still is incredibly stable and solid in its fps.
I have also been trying out a lot of other wabbajack lists, and can honestly say that none have run as smoothly as yours.
I’m not sure what you did, but with every other list I have tried so far I get a LOT of stuttering even when experiencing high fps, while yours very seldom stutters and seems to stay at a solid 61 fps for 90% of the time. I have an rx7800xt GPU, a 7800x3d CPU and 32gb of ram. Not the most powerful, but not a slouch either, and yet like I said pretty well every other list i try gives me a lot of stutters.
I have come to trust your good understanding of how to create a stable modlist.

0:25 Skyrim’s combat sucked even back in 2011.

As always a really good mods showcase with the camera work and editing, the combat mods you mentioned blend and work so seamlessly together that it kinds feels unreal tbh.

Also do you think it would be possible for you create a few more similar videos like this one? Something like “Transforming Skyrim’s Graphic/NPCs/Animations” And etc? I think it would be pretty neat to have a kind of mini series based on this, it’s upto you!

I like it when my screen looks like 12 angle grinders simultaneously destroying a block of high carbon steel every time I slice a loaf of bread with my sword. I also want it to sound like an anvil in a cement mixer in an empty concert hall. That’s good combat.

Also, what armor is used at around 0:25? The hooded person with the Standing Stone, in case my timestamp is slightly off.

TK dodge is garbage, I got stick of having to install like 15 different mods to get it up to date and working. I deleted them all and replaced it with the dodge overhaul from MCO… not much point using their attack system and not their dodging system. There are sound effects, the animations are far cleaner, there are multiple types of dodge (step and roll, depending on input) and more directions to dodge in. One mod, works way better, no reason to use TK dodge anymore. It needs like 5 different versions of the same mod to work, and then like 5 different patches to work with Pandora, which everyone should have used to replace Nemesis already.

The majority of mods you listed as only working on a downgraded version of the game also already work on my AE that has not been downgraded at all and is on the most recent patch… without any third party patches. They already work on on the most recent version of AE… block overhaul and dynamic block hit 100% work on any version of AE.

Pandora was definitely worth a mention in a video consisting of animation overhauls that rely on Nemesis or Pandora to work… it’s now possible to change the animations of every creature in Skyrim, not just the playable races. Seriously, no mention? Huge new capabilities, already tons of creature reworks that have new animations?

I feel like you’ve done a lot of great mods dirty, too. There are tons of new mods in the combat category on the Nexus that overhaul the combat for the entire game. De-levelling the game, overhauls similar to requiem, wound systems… there’s hundreds of obscure, new mods that aren’t getting the spotlight they deserve. But of course, True Directional Movement and Smoothcam get features for the 15th year in a row. This is like a list of the top 5 mods at the top of Nexus that everyone has already seen
